This month we spoke to Michelle about what it’s like to fundraise for Cure4CF as part of her birthday celebrations.

You chose to support Cure4CF recently in lieu of gifts for your birthday celebrations, with many deserving charities what made you choose Cure4CF?

I chose Cure4CF on the advice of my sister.  She told me it was a charity which channeled its funds directly to research. This was a vital factor in deciding which charities to support, as we wanted to make sure that the funds were being used in the right way.

 What made Cure4CF stand out from other charities?

The grass roots nature of the organisation and the ongoing work that it does to apply funds directly into research for CF.

 How does it make you feel knowing that you’re contributing to finding a cure for CF?

I feel proud to be able to support a cause that is so close to my family’s heart. We didn’t know that we carried the CF gene, so raising awareness and supporting other families that fight CF it’s very fulfilling.

What advice would you give to potential fundraisers who are thinking of supporting Cure4CF?

I recommend they look for organisations where the funds are invested back into the communities, and into resources where they are used wisely.
